Shelby works with you and the client to review retouching requests, optimizing the files to best meet the desired look. She’ll source any necessary images (i.e. latte art for a coffee swap), recreate shadows for clipped backgrounds, remove blemishes or facial hair, and add layer masks to create a natural, clean, and beautiful image. The goal of everyone is for your images to best sell that product, and skilled retouching will elevate your work to the next level.

The unfortunate part of this is in today’s society that everyone believes retouching is as simple as counting one, two, three. From the coffee cup that the client wants to be a latte, changing the color of a dress, removing blemishes on products and skin or clipping masks for website banner placements, I’m able to not only help my retouching clients with their color correction needs but can focus on the intricate details of retouching assignments.

    The first step is to set up a phone call, facetime or zoom so you can meet Shelby. A strong personal connection is so important when outsourcing your photo editing because you’re placing your trust in an outside collaborator. Shelby wants her potential clients to vibe with her, hear about her experience, and know she will work hard to become a valued member of their team because she deeply cares about the final result she produces for them. During this call you can ask all the questions and learn about the nitty gritty details of outsourcing.

  • PROJECT SYNOPSIS

    Every commercial and editorial photoshoot will be different so communication is key. For each project, a detailed email lining out the client requests will need to be sent. Shelby will review the tasks as well as the images provided via Dropbox and let you know if she has any questions or concerns.
